Acting Governor Livens Up Fried Rice Cooking Contest at City Hall

The Jakarta Agency of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) held a Fried Rice Cooking Contest in the City Hall Office Yard, Wednesday (6/21).

The competition, which is held to celebrate Jakarta's 496th anniversary was attended by Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono and OPD leaders within the Jakarta Provincial Government, all of whose participants were men.

He seemed enthusiastic about participating in the competition, even his fried rice was finished less than the time specified by the judges. Even, each contestant would receive an additional prize of Rp 500,000 from him.

"So, I was asked suddenly to cook, I cooked it as it was according to what was prepared. If I usually cook, there are pincers and stir the eggs. The other participants had no suggestions, I didn't have any, I just chopped the chilies. The fathers were asked to cook, thus if the mother was busy, the father could cook at home," he expressed.

He appreciated the Fried Rice Cooking Contest, as it could strengthen internal cohesiveness and strengthen ties between OPDs under the Jakarta Government.

"To enliven the city's anniversary, the next js eating with officials that create cohesiveness between OPD because there is a cheering team," he explained.

The same statement also came from City Secretary, Joko Agus Setyono who appreciated the Fried Rice Cooking Contest. He, who also took part in the competition, said that this competition was not intended to find champions and hidden talents, only to enliven city's anniversary. It is a form of innovation by regional apparatus heads in a broader scope, namely providing services to the community.

"This is incredibly exciting, those who spend their time daily providing services to the community, my appreciation goes to the MSMEs who participate. I invite everyone to shop for MSME products, this is important to boost the economic growth of the community, especially Jakartans," he explained.

Jakarta PPKUKM Agency Head, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo uttered the purpose of holding this event was to invite all OPD heads to show their latent talents and creativity, as well as strengthen the ties of friendship among OPD heads.

"Besides fostering the spirit of sportsmanship of the participants, what is no less important in this event is preserving Indonesian specialties," she stated.

As for the information, the 1st winner of the Jakarta Government Inter-OPD Fried Rice Cooking Contest was won by Head of Jakarta Regional Financial Management Agency, followed by 2nd place by Head of Jakarta Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM), and 3rd place by Head of Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda).
